New York State Education Law requires that all students receive scoliosis screening as part of the health services provided by each school district. This screening will be done for all students in Grades 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9. The purpose of the scoliosis screening is early identification of those students. With early identification and intervention, scoliosis may be prevented from progressing so that its interference with mobility, activity and comfort is minimized. We will conduct scoliosis screening for our students starting in January. If the results of the screening indicate that your child requires further follow-up you will receive written notification.
