Wantagh High School Theater
Wantagh High School offers a dynamic, comprehensive theatre arts education for students in grades 9-12. In addition to a wide variety of curricular options, including Improv and Directing electives, students can participate in a robust extracurricular component. The program's extracurricular activities include producing two full-length shows per year as well as student-directed productions.
Wantagh Theatre provides its students with opportunities for advanced training and recognition in both performance and technical theatre. Participants attend festivals and conferences, engage in workshops with guest artists, and compete in local and national competitions. The program consistently garners high praise, with students earning top honors at prestigious regional and national events.
Wantagh is also home to International Thespian Honor Society Troup 1623, celebrating the talent and success of our performers and crew.

Wantagh High School Presents the East Coast Premiere of 1660 Vine
A New Musical About Fame, Friendship, and Finding Yourself in the Digital Age
The Wantagh High School Theatre Department is proud to announce its fall musical production of 1660 Vine, marking the East Coast Premiere of this new musical by Jackson Prince. Performances will be held November 21 at 7:00 p.m., November 22 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and November 23 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wantagh High School Auditorium. Directed by Dr. Kimberly Davis, with Vocal Direction by Mrs. Sameerah Cassidy, Music Direction by Mr. Thomas Brody, Stage Crew Direction by Mrs. Victoria Briguglia, and Technical Direction by Mr. Christopher Cockren, this production features a cast of 20 talented high school performers, a dedicated student crew, and a live pit band of both students and faculty.
1660 Vine tells the intersecting stories of young social media stars living together in a Los Angeles apartment complex, all striving to make their mark online while navigating the realities of identity, mental health, friendship, and authenticity in a world defined by clicks and followers. The musical explores the high and low points of digital fame and the universal desire to be seen, heard, and valued for who we truly are.
With an electrifying pop score, 1660 Vine captures the energy of a generation raised in the digital spotlight. Its dynamic storytelling and modern soundscape make it a powerful, relevant piece for today’s students and audiences alike.
