Wantagh Students Get Spooked Together
The event was a partnership between the high school, the middle school and the 6-12 Association. Sean said that more than 25 student clubs from the high school participated and each came up with a unique idea for the Halloween celebration. He added that the Spooktacular was modeled after similar safe trick-or-treating events that other high schools on Long Island host for children in the community.
Principal Dr. Guzzone was thrilled to see hundreds of children and their families turn out. He thanked the Spooktacular coordinator, teacher Darlene Thompson, as well as all of the students and club advisors for their hard work in planning activities and promoting the first-time event.
“The students worked tirelessly,” he said, adding that they wanted children to have an enjoyable time and leave with great memories. “It was better than I could have imagined. It was nice to do something as a community, with our high school and middle school students supporting our elementary kids.”
